"A fabulous place to stay in a beautiful village"

(TripAdvisor)

“Excellent location , attention to detail ,post Covid safety measures in place . Pretty village with good amenities evident. Excellent broadband always welcome.House was clean throughout.”

(Air BnB August 2020)

Our stylish 19th century house lies in the conservation area heart of this picture postcard fishing village. We provide the perfect base for discovering the many delights of the area such as quaint fishing villages, the Fife Coastal Path and historic St Andrews – the home of golf.

The Posthouse is a spacious middle and top floor property sleeping 5 in two double and one single bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, one with a freestanding bath. The bright mid-floor sitting room opens into an open plan kitchen/diner, and on the top floor there is a small sitting room/library with views across the rooftops to the sea. Unlimited fibre wifi and large Smart TV with Netflix will keep you and your family entertained.

We are very dog friendly and were chosen as a 2013 Feature Property by Your Dog Magazine. Parking is free all year – often at the front door.

The house is full of special touches including Scottish fabrics, Swedish throws, down duvets and Designer Guild wallpapers. We have retained many original features such as the pine staircase and woodwork, but added oak and tiled floors and quality furnishings.

After a rewarding day out it’s lovely to relax in our bright sitting room with its

bay window overlooking the whitewashed and stone houses that form the quiet residential part of Crail High Street.  On cold days put on the electric stove and enjoy one of our extensive collection of DVDs – or log into your Netflix account on our smart TV.

While away an evening with in our cosy top floor study/library. There you can slow the pace with one of our extensive collection of hardback books and games.

Crail

Crail is a quiet, mostly residential, south facing village with pretty gardens, seaside walks and 18 century lanes leading down to the much photographed 17th-century harbour (cooked local lobsters available in season).

The East Neuk, the local name for East Fife, is well known to Scottish visitors but largely unknown to visitors from further afield and abroad. They are often surprised by how unspoilt and slow paced it is, particularity outside the summer - and by how dry it is (allegedly the sunniest part of Scotland).

There are lovely all year walks along Fife Coast path which runs in either direction connecting the various East Neuk fishing villages, each with a very individual character, and St Andrews, the home of golf 15 minutes drive to the north.

A range of quiet beaches are within 5 to 25 minutes drive and there are almost too many golf courses to list.

Crail is 90 minutes drive from Edinburgh, and 45 minutes form Dundee.

'The property is large, well kept and we felt at home immediately! The location is peaceful, close to the beach and close enough to St Andrews to just pop in for an afternoon. Finding a nice property which is dog friendly is difficult as it is so this place really is perfect. The bath was also fantastic and the shower the most powerful I have had! The village also has everything you could want, bakers, coop, tea rooms and a pub! "
